Lisa is passionate about Compassionate-Nonviolent Communication and is deeply invested in supporting individuals, couples and families by teaching skills and offering tools to bring more ease, peace, connection and empathy into their lives. In addition to her work as a school social worker, psychotherapist and as a coach and teacher using Nonviolent Communication, Lisa's work is also informed by her ongoing study in a variety of therapeutic modalities.
Lisa works with businesses, non-profits, faith-based organizations, schools and other groups to find effective methods to improve communication with participants, staff and customers, solve problems and increase productivity and worker satisfaction. Lisa also offers classes and workshops integrating NVC in our daily lives.
Lisa has lived and worked in Ann Arbor, MI since the mid 1970s, raising her children and working for 20 years as a school social worker for Washtenaw Intermediate School District in a variety of programs, including the Court Involved Youth Program, where she initiated the facility's first vegetable gardens, and taught yoga and mindfulness. Lisa is the co-founder of Selma Cafe, a non-profit local food and breakfast party that supports sustainable agriculture. Currently Lisa is dedicating her work life to NVC education and coaching. Lisa is an avid knitter and weaver, loves spending time with her family and her 14 year old Jack Russell terrier, and traveling in beautiful Northern Michigan and Iceland.
